IMPORTANT: a reminder about the actions of the population upon the signal “Air raid warning!”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

When receiving a sound signal from electric sirens “Attention everyone!” and voice alert “Air raid alert!” in radio and TV broadcast networks, through radio points and street loudspeakers, without waiting for additional clarification on the rules of conduct and protection, it is necessary:

1. When you are in an apartment building, if you do not know the location of the nearest shelter:

  • close the windows tightly and do not approach them in the future;
  • turn off gas, water, electricity;
  • take refuge in a room with load-bearing walls, sitting on the floor near the load-bearing wall at a considerable distance from the window.

2. When you are in an apartment building, if you know the location of the nearest shelter:

  • close the windows tightly;
  • turn off gas, water, electricity;
  • take essentials (documents, mobile phone, money, bank cards);
  • warn neighbors in case they didn’t hear the signal;
  • provide assistance to the sick, children, disabled people, and the elderly;
  • without using the elevator, follow to the shelter.

3. When in a private home:

  • close the windows tightly;
  • turn off gas, water, electricity;
  • use the most durable basement or recessed room (basement, cellar) for shelter.

4. When at the workplace or in an educational institution:

  • carry out the measures provided for in this case by the instructions developed for this enterprise (organization), educational institution;
  • take place in a civil defense protective structure or in dual-use structures (basements converted for shelter).

5. When in public places:

  • act as directed by the administration;
  • use basement floors or recessed rooms for shelter.

6. When in a car or public transport:

  • stop the car (demand the public transport driver to stop);
  • leave the car (public transport) and use the basement floors of nearby buildings or dual-use structures (underpasses, tunnels, other artificial shelters) for shelter.

7. When outside:

  • use the basement floors of nearby buildings or dual-use structures (underground passages, tunnels, other artificial shelters) for shelter.

Remember! Not suitable for shelter:

  • places under vehicles (cars, trucks, buses);
  • places under the walls of apartment buildings, offices and shops: a lot of glass will fall from above from the blast wave. The safe distance from such buildings is 30-50 meters.
