Important for Sevastopol residents: Tax service can provide social tax deductions proactively

Since 2024, a simplified procedure for receiving social tax deductions has been in effect, which can be provided to individuals who have received paid medical services, as well as services related to voluntary medical insurance, non-state pension provision, voluntary pension insurance and voluntary life insurance and other services.

For individuals who have received such services, the procedure for obtaining a deduction has been significantly simplified. Now there is no need to collect information about the amounts paid (certificates), since organizations and entrepreneurs providing services will be able to provide the relevant information directly to the tax service.

In this case, an individual will not need to fill out a 3-NDFL declaration and collect documents for each type of deduction. This information will be accumulated for the taxpayer in the tax authority. Based on the information received electronically in 2024 and successfully passed the check, the tax authority in 2025 will generate a pre-filled application for receiving social tax deductions for personal income tax in a simplified manner and post it in «Personal account for individuals».

Receiving information directly from service providers will allow the tax service to provide social tax deductions proactively, minimizing the labor costs of both information providers and taxpayers in collecting supporting documents, filling out and submitting to the tax authority a tax return on personal income tax. Information is provided by service providers in electronic form via telecommunication channels using an enhanced qualified electronic signature in the manner prescribed by order of the Federal Tax Service of Russia dated 16.07.2020 No. ED-7-2/448@

The formation of information on the actual expenses of taxpayers, necessary for the provision of a social tax deduction for personal income tax, in electronic form is also possible in the publicly available software of the Federal Tax Service of Russia «Taxpayer Legal Entity».
