In the area of social protection, military personnel are provided with social support measures for the payment of housing and utilities in the amount of 50%. These support measures are provided by social protection agencies at the place of residence of the military personnel.

To receive benefits for housing and utilities, a family representative or the serviceman himself must apply to the social security agency with a corresponding application. It specifies all the necessary information on the types of utilities, personal accounts, and the availability of metering devices. There is no need to contact utility companies to confirm benefits; this information is transmitted automatically every month without the participation of the applicant.
In addition, the Republic of Crimea previously provided a one-time benefit of 200 thousand rubles for those military personnel who signed a contract for military service or were called up to the Armed Forces as part of mobilization. From August 1 of this year, the amount of this payment was increased to 400 thousand rubles. This payment is provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea. Today, it is provided without an application for those citizens who signed a contract for military service in the period from August 1 to December 31, 2024 for a period of at least one year.
Also, social support measures are provided for military personnel in other areas: in the areas of education, health care and sports.
