Improvement of the first stage of the Great Crimean Trail has started

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The improvement of the first of 52 trail stages of the Great Crimean Trail project with a total length of more than 750 km has begun. The ecological route runs through two protected areas of regional significance, managed by the Sudak forestry and hunting enterprise: the natural monument of regional significance «Meganom Peninsula» and the landscape and recreational park of regional significance «Fox Bay — Echki-Dag».

The network also passes through the territory of two protected areas managed by the Office of Specially Protected Natural Areas of the Republic of Crimea: the landscape and recreational park of regional significance “Quiet Bay” and the natural park of regional significance “Aeronautical Complex “Uzun-Syrt, Mount Klementyeva”. The excursion ecological route “Great Crimean Trail” partially passes through the lands of the forest fund of the Starokrymsky and Sudak forestries. Currently, fences are being installed, information boards and signs are being installed, — noted in the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea.

By the end of the year, measures are planned to improve four stages with a length of more than 75 km, passing through the territories of the urban districts of Sudak, Feodosia and the Kirov region.

The walking route “Mysterious Meganom” connects Sunny Valley with Sudak, passing through attractions, natural and man-made objects. This is the lighthouse keeper’s house, Cape Meganom and Meganom lighthouse, Shark Bay, «Penitent Monks», art cluster «Tavrida» and Kapsel Bay, Mount Kalisa-Kaya, temple at Mount Kalisa-Kaya, mountain and spring Ai-Georgiy, several lookout points sites on Cape Meganom and Mount Kalisa-Kaya, from which views of Sudak open.

One of the parking lots will be improved by employees of the Sudak forestry and hunting enterprise and the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic of Crimea.

Reference: Work on the creation of an active tourism complex “Great Crimean Trail” is carried out with the aim of developing pedestrian tourism. In 2022, the development of the Concept of the BKT was completed — a linear route that will connect western and eastern Crimea, and also cover part of the mountainous peninsula. The trail will pass through seven municipal districts and six urban districts, more than 20 specially protected natural areas and will consist of segments of about 15-25 km. It will be possible to complete each stage during daylight hours, while the route itself will allow you to compose an integral journey of a thematic nature from several sections.

The large-scale project will unite more than 3 thousand tourist sites located along the route and in its immediate vicinity. Among them are Karalar Park, Osovinskaya steppe, Quiet Bay, Voloshin trail, Green trail, cave cities of Bakhchisarai, Grand Canyon of Crimea, Cape Meganom, Demerdzhi, Ai-Petri, “Little Jerusalem” tourist route, Atlesh, Tarkhankut Park, etc.
