The Ministry of Emergency Situations spoke about ensuring safety in the water bodies of Crimea in the past year.
The coastline of the Crimean Peninsula exceeds 2500 km. At the same time, less than 500 kilometers are considered suitable for organizing a beach holiday. According to the Civil Code of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea, by the beginning of the 2023 swimming season, local governments in Crimea had equipped 391 beaches, where 1,344 rescue sailors ensured the safety.
Throughout the year, the personnel of the GIMS Center carried out preventive measures to prevent the death of people on the water, prevented accidents on small vessels, certified shipowners, patrolled the coastline, and rescued people who suffered due to non-compliance with safety rules on water bodies.— reported the emergency department.
It is emphasized that in just 2023, the State Inspectorate for Inspectorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia carried out 1,500 patrols in places of public recreation on the water. All these measures reduced the number of crimes, and most importantly, reduced the number of deaths by 13%.
