In a trip? Popular types of creative tourism in Russia

Hotel and apartment booking service TVIL found out that every fifth Russian aged 18 to 24 is ready to go on a creative trip around Russia. At the same time, up to 46% of Russian youth choose excursion and beach holidays, and 18% plan hikes and trips to ski resorts. This conclusion was reached by researchers from Ipsos and experts from the Creative Tourism Network.

Meanwhile, creative tourism is when you visit nature reserves, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the place and the life of the locals, and eat national food. Of course, creative tourism requires study and knowledge, but for the majority of tourists, and these are people aged 18-25, it is more important to do, to participate for the sake of gaining experience and skills. Moreover, young people are even ready to overpay and drive off-road, but so that there are unusual emotions and impressions,” noted the service’s press service.

More than half of Russians would choose gastronomic and ecological tourism. Moreover, these are people aged 26-35 who have seen the world, use global services, and organize their own trips. Researchers note that among respondents, 12% of Russians are not interested in creative tourism; for them, the value lies in a comfortable stay at resorts.

The survey was conducted by the research company Ipsos among the adult population of Russian cities with more than 100 thousand people; the sample consisted of three thousand respondents.
