In Alupka, an ancient drinking fountain that was discovered… in a vegetable garden will be returned to its place
CrimeaPRESS reports:
According to the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko, the ancient drinking fountain from 1847 will be returned to its historical place — on Amet-Khan Sultan Street.
It was discovered by chance in one of the private gardens. How it got there is unknown, but now it will return to its historical place, where a photo zone will be equipped, — the press service quotes Yanina Pavlenko.
The development of the historical part of Alupka is being implemented using federal funds within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. Today, on Amet-Khan Sultan Street, following the fences, MAFs, and curbstones, the road surface of the pedestrian part has been dismantled. Excavation work is in the active stage — replacement of communications.
Initially, we planned to partially replace the water supply networks if necessary, but after opening the roadway we were faced with the fact that the communications were 100% worn out. There are pipes from centuries ago,” notes Deputy Head of the Yalta Administration – Head of the Department of Construction and Landscaping Irina Belomestnova.
The fountains on Amet-Khan Sultan Street will be restored — modern tiles will be removed and they will be given the look of the era when they were built.
It was also decided to power all the fountains from the existing natural source – “Mandra”. Its water will be used to water the plants.says Denis Trofimenko, general director of the development project.
According to the head of the work site, Yuriy Bulka, work on supplying water from the source has already begun.
