A 45-year-old local resident was convicted in Alushta. The lady wanted to “cash out” the maternity capital, but the “trick” was revealed. She was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“fraud in receiving payments”).
The court found that the woman, being the mother of two children, in October 2019 provided the territorial administration of the pension fund of the Russian Federation with deliberately false information about the disposal of maternity capital funds, which she allegedly used to pay off the debt spent on purchasing a plot of land in the Volgograd region. Thus, the defendant received more than 400 thousand rubles. In fact, the funds were cashed out and used by her at her own discretion.,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.
The court agreed with the opinion of the state prosecutor about the guilt of the convicted person and sentenced her to a fine. The claim brought by the prosecutor to recover damages caused by the crime from the woman will be considered in civil proceedings.
