In Alushta, a man cultivated narcotic plants. «Plantation» arranged in a forest

As part of the ongoing operation «Poppy», as well as checking the information received by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Alushta, criminal investigation officers identified a local resident suspected of cultivating plants containing drugs. It turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of one of the settlements of the city of Alushta, who had no previous convictions.

Police officers found polymer containers in a forest between settlements, in which there were 39 shoots, presumably drug-containing plants. The examination confirmed that the seized plants belong to the cannabis (marijuana) genus and contain a narcotic substance. The suspect confessed and told the police that he cultivated marijuana in a forest area outside the village, because. knew about the wrongfulness of his acts and hoped to avoid responsibility. He also clarified that he grew these plants exclusively for personal use, without the purpose of marketing.— the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea notes.

The department of inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Alushta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their precursors). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum punishment of up to 2 years in prison. With respect to the suspect, a measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen.
