In Alushta, a man was caught cultivating and storing drugs of plant origin

Employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, together with colleagues from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Alushta, as a result of checking operational information, identified a suspect in the cultivation and storage of drugs of plant origin. It turned out to be a 53-year-old resident of one of the settlements of the city of Alushta, who had previously been convicted several times, in particular for a similar crime.
At the place of residence of the man, police officers found a cardboard box with a gray-green substance of plant origin. Also in the apartment of the suspect, the police found a place equipped with a special ultraviolet lamp and an irrigation system, where several containers with sprouts were located. According to the expert’s conclusion, the seized substance is the narcotic drug cannabis (marijuana) with a total weight of 33.4 grams in terms of the dried substance, the size of the narcotic drug is defined as significant— noted in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Crimea.
The suspect admitted to the police that he cultivated and stored narcotic plants for personal use, without the intent to sell.
The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Alushta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances ), the sanction of which provides for a maximum penalty of up to 3 years in prison. With respect to a local resident, a measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen.
Based on the results of a medical examination, the offender was brought to administrative responsibility under Art. 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for the use of narcotic drugs. The World Court of the Alushta Judicial District (city district of Alushta) of the Republic of Crimea imposed a fine of 4,000 rubles on a 53-year-old local resident.
At present, protocols on an administrative offense drawn up by officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Alushta are under consideration in the Magistrate’s Court, for the illegal cultivation of drug-containing plants (Article 10.5.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing without purpose sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues (6.8 part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
