In Alushta, the prosecutor’s office sent a criminal case to court regarding fraud in obtaining maternity capital. A 45-year-old local resident is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud in receiving payments).
According to the investigation, the accused, being the mother of two children, in October 2019 provided to the territorial administration of the pension fund of the Russian Federation deliberately false information about the disposal of maternity capital funds, which the woman allegedly used to pay off the debt spent on purchasing a plot of land in the Volgograd region. Thus, the defendant received more than 400 thousand rubles. In fact, the funds were cashed out and used by her at her own discretion.— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Alushta City Court for consideration on the merits. The “range” of punishment is wide: from a large fine to 6 years in prison.
