In Alushta, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory was taken into custody, accused of remote fraud

In Alushta, a criminal case initiated on the basis of fraud is being investigated (Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It all started with a phone call.

An elderly resident of the city contacted the police department and reported that a young man had called her and said that a traffic accident had occurred with the woman’s relatives. To compensate for the damage, the victim gave the accused 220 thousand rubles— said the prosecutor’s office.

A resident of the Krasnodar region was detained by internal affairs officers. The attacker was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. The criminal investigation continues.
