In Bakhchisarai, the scammers offended the pensioner — “took away” 600 thousand rubles

The attendant part of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bakhchisarai district received a statement from the granddaughter of a 75-year-old resident of one of the villages about fraudulent actions regarding her grandmother. According to the applicant, unknown persons, taking advantage of the psychological impact, the elderly woman told false information about an accident involving her daughter and demanded the transfer of funds to “avoid criminal liability”. As a result of criminal acts, the pensioner handed over to the unknown her savings in the amount of 600,000 rubles.
As a result of the operational-search measures, the criminal investigators of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bakhchisarai district in the shortest possible time established a suspect who acted as a courier in this fraudulent scheme. It turned out to be an 18-year-old resident of Sevastopol, who explained that the Telegram was a part-time job in the Telegram messenger. On the instructions of the curator, he arrived at the place of residence of the victim, took the money from the gullible pensioner, of which he took 10 thousand to pay for his work, transferred the remaining money to the account indicated by the curator,-voiced the details of the case in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Crimea.
The investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bakhchisarai district opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud committed with causing significant damage to a citizen”). In relation to the suspect, the preventive measure was chosen — a subscription about the non -departure and proper behavior.
The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for up to 6 years. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
The police warn: beware of scammers! If unknown people call you and report that “your relative was in an accident”, immediately stop the conversation — these are scammers! Warn your loved ones, especially the elderly, about such schemes of deception. Be vigilant! Do not let yourself and your loved ones deceive yourself.
