In Balaklava, the demolition of the buildings of the Metallist plant is being completed
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The entire territory of the former Metallist shipyard, intended for the construction of a yacht marina, must be liberated by April 18 — the Day of the Liberation of Balaklava from Nazi invaders.
In the rest of the building, located along Kalicha Street, there is a transformer substation. It is not being demolished in order to ensure the supply of electricity to the Nazukin embankment. Complete dismantling of the substation will be carried out only after the laying of new electrical networks and the installation of modern transformer substations, which is being done now. The waste generated after the dismantling of buildings will be taken to a specialized landfill until April 18, the press service of the single contractor for the construction of the yacht marina, Mostotrest PJSC, said.says «Sevastopol newspaper».
According to the contract, a single pedestrian zone will appear on the territory of the former Metalist plant, which will connect the Nazukin and Tavricheskaya embankments.
Books from the factory library will become exhibits
In one of the workshops, during dismantling work on the territory of Metalist, technical books were found. The builders transferred them to the Balaklava underground museum complex. But, according to museum workers, the condition of the transferred books is unsatisfactory. They are damp, moldy and in need of restoration.
Books on ship repair, construction of ships and submarines, which we received earlier, are already used in the design of offices in the secret part of object 820 «Arsenal»— said the head of the museum funds Svetlana Pankova.
According to her, inside the museum complex there is a special workshop of the plant and a dry dock, where a new excursion route has already been opened. The books received as a gift will become exhibits of a future exposition dedicated to the Metalist plant.
Fully work on the construction of the yacht marina in Balaklava is planned to be completed in December 2025.
