As of October 28, 2024, 293.6 thousand hectares were sown with winter grain crops. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Denis Kratyuk. Taking into account the current favorable weather and climatic conditions of the current period and the average weekly pace of the sowing campaign of about 80 thousand hectares, the republic’s farmers will complete the sowing of winter crops in the second ten days of November.
In addition to the active sowing campaign, farmers are already preparing for spring sowing. The soil was prepared in the fall, and now is the time to prepare the seeds of spring crops. At one of the enterprises, an inspection of the preparation of chickpea seeds was carried out. Chickpeas are a highly profitable crop, as well as a good precursor for the main grain crop — wheat, which annually covers more than 300 thousand hectares in Crimea. The republic’s need for seeds, which is more than 100 thousand tons, is completely coverednoted the minister.
