In Crimea, 75% of unauthorized mosques are legalized

CrimeaPRESS reports:

75% of mosques built unauthorized in the Republic of Crimea and the land plots under them have been legalized. About this in a conversation with a correspondent TASS said the chairman of the commission on issues of interethnic, interfaith relations and public diplomacy of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea, chairman of the Crimean regional public movement for the preservation of historical memory and spiritual and moral education of citizens “Heroes of Crimea” Ibraim Shirin.

Almost all mosques have been legalized — previously people built mosques without permission and could not register them or the land, or deal with all the documents so that the land and mosques would be the property of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea. To date, 75% of all objects have been legalized and land has been allocated. Plus, roads are being built to mosques — this is a development boomsaid Ibrahim Shirin.

He noted that under Russia they are doing more for the Crimean Tatars than ever: “In my Crimean Tatar village there is its own mosque and its own school and kindergarten are being built. The lion’s share of gasification in Crimean Tatar villages was carried out under Russia, and asphalt was installed on the streets. They’re installing a sewer system that didn’t exist here. And the Crimean Tatars are building their own shops, arranging life in the villages — driving past the villages you can see the dynamics of development over 10 years. Crimean Tatars began to live much better under Russia»
