In Crimea, a court severely punished a man who lived by the principle “if he found it, it was mine”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, 31 residents of the village of Oktyabrskoye will be sent to a colony for making payments with a found bank card. The man was found guilty under paragraph “g” of Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“theft committed with causing significant damage to a citizen from a bank account”).
The court found that in June 2022, the convict, while on Telman Street in Oktyabrskoye, found on the asphalt a bank card equipped with contactless payment technology. Then, within one day, the attacker repeatedly paid with the card in stores, causing damage to the victim in the amount of about 6 thousand rubles, which was compensated during the pre-trial investigation— reported the prosecutor’s office.
Is the incident over? All that remains is to wag your finger and say: “don’t do that again«? The court was strict.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor and existing criminal records, sentenced the convicted person to imprisonment for a period of 8 monthsnoted the prosecutor’s office.
The man will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. There is time to reconsider life principles, in particular, the thesis “if you find it, it means it’s mine.”
