In Crimea, a «drug agrarian» grew 69 cannabis bushes. What happened next

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Operatives of the drug control department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» as part of the preventive operation «Mak-24» discovered a drug plantation on the territory of the home of a 48-year-old local resident.

On the man’s plot of land, police officers found and seized 69 cannabis bushes with signs of cultivation, planted in plastic buckets and grown in closed and open ground, as well as more than 5 kg of dried and crushed parts of a gray-green plant with a specific smell, electronic scales with particles of plant matter and packaging material — polymer bags with groove locks. The examination showed that the bushes are a narcotic plant of the cannabis family, and their dried parts are marijuana.— the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea reported.

The suspect told law enforcement that in 2023 he ordered cannabis seeds from a shadowy online store and then grew them in a vegetable garden and greenhouse, where he installed a lighting system. According to the drug dealer, he dried the resulting crop and stored it for personal use.

The Department of Inquiry and Investigation initiated criminal cases on the grounds of the elements of crimes provided for in Part 1 of Article 231 and Part 2 of Article 228, as well as Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendant was remanded in custody as a preventive measure.
