In Crimea, police detained a pawnbroker who intended to make a drug cache in the forest.

Employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea received operational information about the possible involvement of a 42-year-old resident of a neighboring region in drug trafficking. The suspect was detained in a forest in the Simferopol region when he intended to make a cache of drugs. During the inspection of his car, a package was found in the back seat containing packaging material, zip bags, 4 mobile phones, 4 bank cards, a package with a white powdery substance and electronic scales. In addition, not far from the place of arrest, the police discovered a cache made by the attacker earlier, from which a package of drugs was also seized— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

According to the examination, more than 255 grams of N-methylephedrone and more than 305 grams of mephedrone were seized from the pawnbroker.

In relation to the man, the investigation of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Simferopol region opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 5 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the defendant. Further operational and investigative actions are being carried out aimed at identifying other persons involved in drug trafficking.
