In Crimea, the Kirovsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 35-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1. 2, 3 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
According to investigators, from May 2022 to August 2023, while in the Kirov region, the accused offered to help his friends obtain driver’s licenses, consider civil cases in court, and also resolve the issue of terminating criminal prosecution. In reality, the man had no opportunity or intention to fulfill what he promised, and he disposed of the funds in the amount of 2.1 million rubles at his own discretion— the prosecutor’s office told the details of the case.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 3 years and 10 months in prison. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The court’s verdict did not enter into legal force.
