In Crimea, a verdict was passed in a criminal case of high treason

It was established that in 2023, Kovirnichenko collected and transferred to an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine the coordinates of the deployment of personnel, as well as military equipment of units of the Russian Armed Forces and the National Guard located in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea. In addition, he provided information about the locations of border patrol ships and boats in Kerch. The transmitted data could be used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the security of the Russian Federation— reported the prosecutor’s office.

The court agreed with the opinion of the state prosecutor about the guilt of Taras Kovirnichenko and sentenced him to 16 years in prison to be served in a maximum security correctional colony with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and 6 months, as well as a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
