In Crimea, an inventive grandson photographed his grandfather’s bank card in order to… place bets
CrimeaPRESS reports:
But grandfather didn’t even know that he was “playing on the betting”…
In Crimea, the Krasnoperekopsk interdistrict prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a previously convicted 32-year-old local resident. The man was found guilty under paragraph “g” of Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed from a bank account).
The court found that in October 2023, the convict, while in his grandfather’s apartment, photographed both sides of the latter’s bank card. Having recorded the card number and CVD code, the convict linked it to one of the sites for transferring funds in order to make interactive bets. Thus, the convict stole more than 30 thousand rubles— the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea gave details.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months, suspended with a probationary period for a similar period. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
