In Crimea — celebrations on the occasion of the memory of St. Luke
Krympress reports:
The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in festive events dedicated to the Day of Memory of St. Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky), the archbishop of Simferopol and Crimean, which took place in the territory of the Holy Trinity Monastery in the city of Simferopol.
The festive divine Liturgy was performed by the head of the Crimean Metropolis of the Eminence Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon.
At the end of the service, Vladyka Tikhon said a sermon in which he told the Crimean Luke to those present about the life and works of Luke:
Saint Luke showed us how courageous and bold can be a person who is not afraid to go towards dangers. Moreover, he understood in his life that, going towards the danger, you fulfill the will of God, observe your conscience pure and, in the end, win. This is one of the greatest lessons of the XX century.
According to Sergei Aksyonov, St. Luke was a brilliant surgeon, whose scientific works do not lose relevance today, and at the same time — an outstanding theologian, who left a rich heritage to the descendants.
Stories about miraculous healings, many of which are confirmed by doctors and recorded documented, amazed, strengthen hope in our souls. The saint refuted the myth of incompatibility of faith and science with his own life. Severe trials, persecution and repression did not break him, did not shake love for God, people and homeland— believes the head of Crimea.
The Governor of the city of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev also took part in the celebrations.
