In Crimea, child heroes were awarded medals of the Federation Council

The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in the ceremony of awarding the commemorative medal of the Federation Council “For demonstrated courage” to two young Crimeans as part of the All-Russian civil-patriotic project “Children-Heroes”.
The Head of the Republic noted that young Crimeans showed their best in critical situations and accomplished a feat — they saved a human life.
A hero is determined not by age, but by courage, bravery, and readiness to help at the right time. These are exactly the qualities that Evgeniy Blaise and Vladimir Tikhomirov showed, to whom I am pleased to present well-deserved awards — commemorative medals of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation “For courage shown.” Now the whole country will learn about the children’s exploits as part of the All-Russian civil-patriotic project Children Heroessaid the Head of Crimea.
Aksenov expressed gratitude to his parents for raising real heroes.
Olga Kovitidi, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the executive branch of the Republic of Crimea, also thanked the parents for their heroic children.
On behalf of the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, and all the senators of Russia, I express gratitude and admiration for the exploits of the guys. We are proud of our young Crimeans,” the senator emphasized.
One of the guys, Evgeniy Blaze, on June 15, 2023, while in the company of friends at the reservoir in the village of Malenkoye, Simferopol region, rushed to the aid of his drowning and already losing consciousness friend Refatov Aziz and, risking his life, pushed him to the shore. Evgeniy himself, weakened and swallowing water, sank to the bottom and spent 7-10 minutes under water. Ambulance workers took the boy to the intensive care unit of the Republican Children’s Clinical Hospital in critical condition, where he was in a coma for 5 days. Evgeniy is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
At the end of May 2022, Vladimir Tikhomirov, walking with friends in the area of the North Crimean Canal near the village of Plodorodny, Krasnogvardeisky district, rushed to the aid of a drowning girl. Having reached the bank of the canal, Vova handed the child over to his friends, who helped him pull her out of the water. Adults passing by helped Vladimir himself get out.
The award ceremony was attended by Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Arkady Ozhigin.
