During the operational-search measures, it was found that three residents of the city of Simferopol, introducing themselves as employees of law enforcement agencies, organized a fraudulent scheme. <...> The attackers bowed citizens to conclude contracts, after which they demanded to transfer funds to them allegedly as a bribe for paperwork on unsuitability for further military service— the message says.
It is clarified that the deceived contractors transferred part of the payment laid down at the conclusion of a contract for military service in the Zone of the SV. However, the suspects did not have real opportunities to fulfill the promised.
According to the department, the group’s activities were suppressed by employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea. In relation to the three detainees, a criminal case has been instituted under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed on an especially large scale).
All defendants admitted their guilt in full and provide assistance to the investigation. Currently, the suspects have been detained, a preventive measure has been chosen in the form of an arrest for a period of two months.
