Poachers face real prison terms.
In Crimea, the prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against two residents of the city of Simferopol. They are accused under Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal hunting committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
According to the preliminary investigation body, in June 2023, the accused, while on the hunting grounds near the village of Partizanskoye, without having the appropriate permission, using a TOZ-34R hunting weapon, illegally shot one individual male Crimean red deer, the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea reported details.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea was recognized as the victim in the criminal case. The criminal case was sent for consideration on the merits to the Simferopol District Court.
Let us note that poachers face severe punishment: from a large fine (from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles) to imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years.
