In Crimea, every fourth man whose wife does not work wants to quit and run the household

CrimeaPRESS reports:

3 out of 10 men who earn less than their wives, and 3 out of 10 women who earn more than their husbands, dream of quitting and not working. In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of economically active married Crimeans took part.

The desire to quit and devote themselves to household chores more often arises among men whose wives earn more than themselves (30%). In second place were men whose incomes were approximately equal to those of their wives (27%). Every fourth man (26%) whose wife does not work also stated his desire to quit and run a household. Among those who earn more than their other half, there are 19% of them, but the largest number of those who do not want to quit their jobs is 67%.

As for women, the number of women who want to do household chores and not work practically does not depend on the financial capabilities of their husbands: 26% — in families with equal incomes; 28% — in couples where the breadwinner is a man; 30% — among wives of unemployed husbands; 32% are among those who earn more than their husband.

How will Crimeans react to the other half’s decision to quit and devote themselves to farming? Men whose wives earn more than them (32%) would be most dissatisfied with this turn of affairs. And loyalty to such a decision was more often shown by unemployed men (47%) and representatives of the stronger sex, whose income exceeds the income of their wives (38%).

Women are more categorical on this issue: a minority expressed support for their husband’s decision to quit. There are slightly more of them only among the unemployed (14%): like unemployed men, women showed a willingness to temporarily switch roles and play the role of breadwinner, giving the other half a break. The majority of opponents of housewife husbands were among women whose salaries were higher than those of their spouses (70%).
