In Crimea, illegal fishing will be judged by… the foreman of the fishing brigade

In Crimea, the prosecutor’s office sent to court a criminal case on the illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources. A woman will be in the dock — the foreman of the fishing brigade. She is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources on an especially large scale, committed by a person using his official position).
According to the preliminary investigation body, in May 2023, the defendant, being the foreman of the fishing brigade, illegally caught 1.2 thousand fish, including Black Sea-Azov anadromous herring with a total weight of 91.7 kg. With an illegally obtained catch, the attacker was detained by law enforcement officersthe prosecutor’s office said.
With her illegal actions, the woman caused damage in the amount of more than 335 thousand rubles. Since the damage caused by the crime has not been compensated, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic filed a claim against the accused.
The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the Razdolnensky District Court for consideration on the merits.
