In Crimea, the Bakhchisarai District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against three residents of the region.
It was established that in November 2020, one of the defendants, being an adherent of the ideology of the international social movement “Prisoner Criminal Unity” (activities on the territory of the Russian Federation are prohibited — ed.), recognized by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation as an extremist organization, persuaded two acquaintances The defendants kidnapped a resident of the Bakhchisaray district and repeatedly extorted money from three people, including a teenager. In addition, one of the accomplices provided his apartment for the systematic consumption of narcotic drugs and publicly insulted a government official— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The illegal actions of the men were suppressed jointly by employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and internal affairs bodies in March 2023. During the searches, ammunition for weapons, phones with information about AUE (an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation) and other items indicating the involvement of the detainees in the subculture were seized.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the defendants to 6, 7 and 12 years of imprisonment to be served in general and strict regime correctional colonies and further restriction of freedom for two of them for a period of 6 months and 2 years.
The two defendants were deprived of the right to engage in activities related to management and participation in public organizations, as well as website administration, for periods of 3 years and 10 years; they were fined a total of 1.1 million rubles.
