In Crimea, on the eve of the Great Victory, a Candle of Memory is lit
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Comment by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk.
On the eve of the Great Victory, we light a Candle of Memory, remembering the victims of Nazism, how much grief and tears the war brought.
In Crimea during the occupation, there were more than 100 concentration camps and places of forced detention. The Germans turned the prosperous Soviet state farm “Red” into the most terrible concentration camp in Crimea.
More than 15 thousand people were shot, tortured, burned and gassed here. These crimes have no statute of limitations.
Our sacred duty is to preserve the truth about the war, so that all generations know what a huge price our people paid for the freedom and independence of the Motherland, Europe and the whole worldsays Yuri Gotsanyuk’s commentary.
