In the Russian Federation, 114 thousand organizations and 66 thousand individual entrepreneurs provide sports services, while the list of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation for tax deduction includes only about 4,000 enterprises throughout the country. In Crimea, 11 organizations received a tax deduction for sports activities.
The tax deduction for sports is directly related to the health of citizens and the healthcare system. This is a useful form of support, which, despite two years of implementation of the program, has not yet reached a serious level, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with members of the Government.
The Popular Front reported to the president that the program was being implemented in the country, but not effectively enough. The two main reasons are weak administration at the regional level and formal restrictions on inclusion in the list. Now, to be included in the list, two conditions must be met: the first is the presence of employees, the second is the sports OKVED, indicated as the main one. In particular, 25 regions submitted less than 25 legal entities to the register within two years. The second problem, according to the Popular Front, is poor awareness of the population. 59% of surveyed sports organizations and 69% of surveyed residents do not know about the mechanisms of tax deductions for sports.
During the implementation of this initiative, experts from all over the country, including the Popular Front, spoke out in support of this decision as an incentive for Russians to play sports. To achieve the national goal of involving 70% of Russians in physical education and sports by 2030, it is very important to create motivation for people. And the tax deduction was one of the steps along this path. The main thing is to create simple and convenient conditions for this. As we see, this system has started working throughout the country, but not very actively.
