In Crimea — serious soil drought. And this is a record
Krympress reports:
Such a soil drought as now, in Crimea was not 50 years old. About this, guided by the data of the agrometeorological station in Klepinino, Krasnogvardeisky district, said in a commentary RIA Novosti Crimea Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea for scientific work, candidate of agricultural sciences Lyudmila Radchenko.
Today we are talking about soil drought, which has not been in Crimea for more than 50 years. Yes, in 2013 and 2018, we also had an emergency due to drought-then there was an atmospheric drought, but there was no such critical situation in the soil. And this year there were no high temperatures and not yet. At the same time, there was no such soil drought that manifested this year for sure. At least, our weather station in Klepinino, which is already a hundred years old, notes such low indicators for soil humidity for the first time— said Radchenko.
According to her, an atmospheric drought, for which +30 and a strong wind are needed, is often observed, unlike the soil drought.
This year, the situation is also complicated by late frosts. Plants were already weakened due to the lack of rains, and here frosts in April-May. These frosts influenced not only fruit crops, but also field. Without frosts from drought, we would have left it easier, ”she clarified, clarifying that last year only 50% of precipitation from the norm fell, and this year, in winter and spring, there were even less — only 30% of the norm.
At the same time, speaking of the crop, Radchenko noted that the situation is quite deplorable, both by no-till (zero soil processing, direct sowing), and according to classical technology. Moisture in the “black pair” (agricultural technique that is used to restore the properties of the soil and to combat weeds and pests — ed.) Has been best preserved in crops).
Unfortunately, the soil drought, which began back in April, continues, there were no productive precipitation. And we continue the death of cultures, if earlier we wrote off only winter crops, now spring crops have connected to them, the fate of the sunflower is also in question, ”Radchenko summed up.
The day before Emergency mode The regional nature was declared in eight regions of Crimea due to soil drought and, as a result, the death of agricultural cultures.
On June 10, Aksenov’s decree was Introduced A regional emergency regime in five regions of Crimea due to May frosts.
On May 27, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Denis Cruyuk informed RIA Novosti Crimea that in the Nizhnytorsk, Krasnogvardeisky, Sovetsk and Belogorsky districts of Crimea introduced Emergency municipal nature Due to the death of part of the crop of cherries, peaches and draining after spring frosts.
According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Agriculture, suffered 3190 hectares of gardens, of which 1300 are significantly damaged, more than 28 thousand hectares of grain and field crops are in the stage of wilting.
