Wanting to help their loved ones, the elderly women gave all the savings of the taxi drivers who came to them, who then took the parcels to the city of Sevastopol and handed over to the unidentified person. Only after a while, the victims contacted their relatives and realized that they became victims of fraud, having lost a total of 1 million 850 thousand rubles and 10 thousand US dollars. Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea, in cooperation with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky” and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Black Sea region, as a result of the operational-search measures, established the identity of the assistant telephone scammers who seized the cash of deceived pensioners. It turned out to be a 15-year-old student of one of the colleges of Sevastopol, who combined study with the «work» for scammers,-voiced the details of the case in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Crimea.
The young man said that he found illegal part -time job on the Internet. Acting at the direction of the curator, he took the packages of money from the taxi drivers and transferred the stolen money into accounts that the employers dictated to him. The guy left himself 10 thousand rubles as a reward. This amount was seized from him by police.
Investigators have opened criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Materials in relation to a teenager are sent to the division of minors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Sevastopol to take measures of a preventive nature.
