In Crimea, the Chernomorsky District Court delivered a verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. Based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, he was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal catching of aquatic biological resources during the prohibited period, which caused particularly large damage).
It was established that the defendant, during the period prohibited for fishing, harvested shrimp from the Black Sea with a total weight of over 6 kg, which caused damage to aquatic biological resources in the amount of more than 600 thousand rublesthe prosecutor’s office said.
The court sentenced the guilty person to 2 years in prison, which he applied conditionally with a probationary period of 1 year. The claim of the prosecutor’s office for compensation for the damage caused to aquatic biological resources was also satisfied.
