In Crimea, the culprit of a fatal accident — the driver of a heavy truck — was punished

In Crimea, the prosecutor’s office of the Bakhchisaray district supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 54-year-old resident of the Saki district. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).

The court found that the convict, driving a MAZ car with a semi-trailer, moving along the road in the area of ​​the village. Tabachnoye, Bakhchisarai district, lost control of the vehicle and drove into the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Lada Priora car. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Lada Priora died on the spot— reported the prosecutor’s office.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, sentenced the convicted person to 1 year in prison with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 2 years. The man will serve his sentence in a penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
