In Crimea, a court sent to prison a resident of Krasnoperekopsk who caused an accident that resulted in the death of a car passenger.

The court found that in September last year, at night, a man, without a driving license, was transporting three passengers in a Toyota Avensis car. Moving in excess of the permissible speed along the Tavrida-Dzhankoy-Krasnoperekopsk highway, the convict drove off the roadway, allowed the vehicle to skid and then overturned.they told the court.

As a result of the accident, one of the car passengers died from his injuries; the driver fled the scene, but was promptly detained by internal affairs officers.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 3 years 6 months of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for a period of 2 years 6 months. He will serve his sentence in a penal colony.
