In Crimea, the memory of the victims of the deportation of the peoples of Crimea was honored
Krympress reports:
A mourning event dedicated to the anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean peoples was held at the monument to the “victims of deportation” in the square on the Street Street.
Members of the Government of Sevastopol, the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, the Sevastopol Deanery, the Muslim and Jewish communities, the assembly of the peoples of Russia, as well as representatives of rehabilitated peoples and national-cultural societies came to honor the memory of the deported peoples. Among those present were young people.
Deportation is the fate of people who have lost their loved ones at home. People who are forced to start life from scratch. Years later, we bitterly recall events when thousands of people were expelled from their native land. Our common task is to do everything possible so that such tragedies are no longer repeated,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, First Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Policy, Maria of the evening.
The Sevastopols honored the memory of the victims of deportation with a minute of silence, laid flowers to the obelisk.
Historical justice against peoples undergoing deportation was restored by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who signed the Decree of April 21, 2014 No. 268 “On measures to rehabilitate the Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Crimean-Tatar and German peoples and state support for their revival and development”.
Recall that in 2008 a monument was erected in Sevastopol, each facet of which symbolizes one of the deported peoples.
