Appeal from national-cultural public associations and religious organizations of the Republic of Crimea following a meeting of the Council for Interethnic and Interfaith Relations under the Head of the Republic of Crimea:
Crimea is a multinational republic in which a large number of representatives of different nationalities and religions live. Despite such diversity, our peninsula can be proud of its unity and cohesion.
On March 16, 2014, in a historic referendum, the multinational people of Crimea unanimously made their choice for unity with Russia. It was then that for us the Crimean Spring forever became a symbol of patriotism and fortitude. Thanks to the fateful decision of our President Vladimir Putin to accept Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation, peace was maintained on our peninsula.
And today, already in Russian Crimea, each of the ethnic groups living in the republic respects each other’s culture, traditions and customs and considers the revival of Nazi ideology, as well as any forms of discrimination, unacceptable. The rights and freedoms of all its citizens are ensured, regardless of racial, ethnic, religious or linguistic affiliation, the preservation and development of cultural and linguistic diversity is enshrined at the constitutional and legislative levels.
For 10 years now, Crimea has been successfully developing, acquiring new opportunities and great prospects for a prosperous republic. You and I can be proud of the results of the tremendous changes that took place in such a short time and became possible only after reunification with Russia.
Our country, today, is a leading power with powerful potential in all areas, led by a strong and decisive President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who is doing everything to protect and strengthen the sovereignty of the state, its unity and power.
Using global authority, our Leader ensures stability and harmony, supporting and protecting all the peoples of our multinational country.
We, members of the Council for Interethnic and Interfaith Relations under the Head of the Republic of Crimea, represented by the leaders of all traditional faiths and heads of national-cultural autonomies of peoples living in the republic, stand in support of our President — Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin!
