On August 9-10, the tour of the Sevastopol Street Soft theater, which lasted two and a half months and took place with the support of the Presidential Fund of Cultural Initiatives, ended in Crimea.
The artists visited eight cities-Armyansk, Krasnoperekopsk, Belogorsk, Saki, Bakhchisaray, Sudak, Alupka and Yalta, and each showed the performances “Deer-Korol”, “Lyuboff” and “Averchenko Islands”. The productions saw more than three thousand spectators — residents and guests of Crimea.
The start of the tour was preceded by a casting, during which several bright artists replenished the theater troupe. Crimean tour began on May 16 in Armyansk, and ended on August 9-10 in the resort Yalta, which just these days celebrated its 187th birthday. Performances played on different locations — squares, embankments, parks and beaches.
According to the head of the street theater «Soft Sign» Valery Alexandrina, the tour went at a high level. The audience always met the artists with joy — they thanked, took pictures, gave gifts, and some even helped to disassemble the scenery and invited him to visit. Some Crimeans were so imbued with the work of the artists that they became their faithful fans, went to other cities to see the productions of the “soft sign” again.
Valery Alexandrin added that the troupe did not always have the opportunity to inspect the cities in which the theater played performances. The artists arranged mini -ecscuri in Bakhchisarai and Sudak, in Tauris. They say that they would love to return to Alupka, Armyansk, Yalta, Bakhchisarai and Saki — the cities where the theater was welcomed the most. Without warm words, friendly hugs and autographs, more than one performance did not do, and the audience even brought their postcards and markers. In Belogorsk, the performance coincided with a disco for young people, so the scenery had to be collected for fashionable music. After each performance, informal communication with the audience was organized — in an interesting format, which includes a discussion of productions and tasting delicious cakes from the project partner — family confectionery “medical facilities”. At these moments, the artists especially came closer to the guests of the performances — in a warm and friendly company they talked about what the street theater was and how it happens, answered questions.
The renewal of the composition has a beneficial effect on the qualitative and artistic level of our performances. He grew up, became even more powerful. We received excellent reviews, including from the city administration. For example, in Yalta they told us that the “soft sign” is the most organized independent team, and it was very pleasant to hear.
During the tour, we realized that the public longs for such art, because the theatrical action made as possible to people creates an amazing atmosphere of the holiday and happiness. Despite the fact that our performances are sometimes with a limitation of 12+, they are understandable to all — both young guests and older audience— said Valery Alexandrin.
Ahead of the theater are waiting for beautiful festivals in Rostov-on-Don and Gubkin, where the “soft sign” will show the performances “Lyuboff” and “Averchenko Islands”. Also, the artists will also begin to prepare the next production, “The music of the words”, which next year, with the support of the Presidential Fund of Cultural Initiatives, will delight the audience. The performances will be shown again in different cities of Crimea.
