In Crimea, the verdict was announced for the founder of the Taigan Lion Park

The founder of the Taigan Lion Park was found guilty of providing services that do not meet the safety and health requirements of consumers. According to the verdict of the Central District Court of Simferopol dated May 20, 2024, the perpetrator was sentenced to one year in prison. The court considered it possible to correct the convicted person without actually serving the sentence and decided to consider the imposed sentence suspended, with a one-year probationary period. Due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution provided for by criminal law, the convicted person is released from the imposed punishment.

During the judicial investigation, it was established that in September 2021, a mother with her young child in her arms, while on the territory of the Taigan Lion Park in Belogorsk, approached the push-out barrier of the mesh of the main enclosure in which the tigers were located. One of the Amur tigers in the enclosure, reacting aggressively to the presence of people, attacked the latter, causing damage in the form of a bite to the left thumb of a young child who happened to be near the specified net, which resulted in the complete amputation of the child’s finger— reported the press service of the Central District Court of Simferopol.

The verdict did not enter into legal force.
