In Crimea, they are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the emergency in the Kerch Strait

During the event, the members of the commission summed up the results of the liquidation of the consequences of emergencies over the past week. It is reported that 1.3 thousand tons of fuel oil are pumped out of the Volgonft 239 tanker. In general, pumping is planned to be completed by Monday, after which the dismantling of the fodder part of the tanker and its transportation to the disposal place will begin.
It is noted that work to eliminate the consequences of emergencies is carried out with good dynamics in accordance with the approved interdepartmental plan.
The event was also attended by the Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kozlov, heads of specialized departments and services.
REFERENCE. Tankers Volgonft 239 and Volgonft 212 crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to difficult weather conditions. An emergency caused by a spill of petroleum products was assigned federal status on December 26. According to the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia on the morning of January 24, almost 185 kilometers of the coast were cleared in the Republic of Crimea, more than 505 tons of sand and soil contaminated with fuel oil were collected.
