In Crimea, they are thinking about compulsory treatment for the “addictions” of parents in families with children
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At a meeting of the Presidium of the Crimean Parliament, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Republic of Crimea, Irina Klyueva, made a report. The Children’s Ombudsman stated the need for compulsory treatment for alcohol and drug addiction of parents in families with children.
Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov commented on this position. According to him, there are strong arguments in favor of the need for tough measures. But… for now we are talking about a broad discussion — a public discussion of the children’s ombudsman proposal.
What is the complexity of the family institution? The fact is that in its study one cannot rely only on material components. The family is more complex and diverse. It cannot be reduced only to joint consumption. In the USSR, the family was interpreted as a unit of society, its basis, so to speak, an elementary particle. Both society and the state then had leverage over the family, especially the family raising children,” noted Vladimir Konstantinov.
He recalled that in our time we are increasingly faced with the harsh propaganda of the so-called. a “non-traditional” family that is not capable of giving birth to a child, much less raising a person useful to society.
That’s the difficulty. For us, family is definitely dad and mom raising their children with love. This is the only way they can realize their right to happiness. Alcoholism and drug addiction definitely do not fit into this model. This means that the fight against these phenomena must be waged decisively and irreconcilably. How to observe individual rights, including constitutional ones, is a subject for broad public discussion. I believe that Irina Klyueva’s statement is a kind of invitation to her,” commented the head of the Crimean parliament.
