In Crimea, they began to fight against signs in the Latin alphabet. «Pilot» — Krasnogvardeyskoye village
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The legislative initiative of the State Council of Crimea, aimed at “preserving the purity of the Russian language and protecting it from borrowing,” has received practical implementation. About this reported head of the republican parliament Vladimir Konstantinov. In his opinion, this issue is ideologically important. And its implementation begins in Crimea with restrictions on the use of advertising signs in the Latin alphabet and containing foreign words.
The first pilot settlement in which all the organizational work to change advertising signs will be done will be the town of Krasnogvardeiskoye, Krasnogvardeiskoye district. Of course, in our opinion, the problem of the widespread use of foreign words lies deeper, it is in people’s heads. We need to fight it, strive to cure our society of the desire to imitate, of this secondary complex. After all, if a sign is placed in a foreign language, the question arises: why do this, is there something wrong with our native Russian language?? — Vladimir Konstantinov commented.
