In Crimea, they continue to deal with the consequences of emergencies in the Kerch Strait

During the event, it became known that the work on the disposal of polluted soil continues: in total in the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea and in the city of Sevastopol, more than 177 thousand tons of contaminated sand and soil were collected. Of these, about 42 thousand tons were taken to specialized organizations, more than 2.7 tons have already been disposed of.
It is reported that after the complete pumping of the fuel oil with the feed part of the Volgonft-239 tanker, work began on the dismantling of the part of the vessel in the area of Cape Panagia. According to the approved work project, it is planned to be completed until March 31.
Also, together with the scientific community and production companies, a detailed analysis of the scenarios of the rise of the sunken fragments of the Volgonft-239 tanker and the Volgonft-212 tanker are carried out.
In addition, at the meeting, the reports of the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosprirodnadzor, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosrybolovstvo and others about the current situation in the emergency zone were heard.
REFERENCE. Tankers Volgonft-239 and Volgonft-212 crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to difficult weather conditions. An emergency caused by the spill of oil products was awarded federal status on December 26.
