In Crimea they decided to intensify the fight against scammers and agreed to teach financial literacy to schoolchildren

Summing up the results of work to improve the financial literacy of citizens, as well as discussing measures to combat fraudsters in Crimea, became the main topics of the meeting of the Coordination Council for increasing the financial literacy of the population of the Republic.
The work to combat fraudsters in Crimea must not only be continued, but also intensified. This statement was made by the head of the Coordination Council, Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko
In 2022, in Russia, criminals stole 14.1 billion rubles from bank clients: 9.2 billion were stolen through banking applications and websites, and 2.5 billion were stolen through payment for goods and services on the Internet. In Crimea, this amount amounted to 220 million rubles. All this indicates the need for further work on financial literacy,” noted Irina Kiviko.
There are results of such work in the region, the speakers noted, but financial scammers do not stop there and come up with more and more new deception schemes.
The solution is financial literacy; the basics of banking security should be instilled from childhood.

The manager of the Branch of the Republic of Crimea of the Southern Main Directorate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Igor Tsvetkov, told those present about significant achievements in the participation of educational organizations of the republic in Bank of Russia projects: “Online lessons” of financial literacy and “DOL-game”, as well as about interaction with executive authorities on the prevention financial fraud in the financial market of the Republic of Crimea, distribution of information materials.
In the Bank of Russia spring session project “Online financial literacy lessons” 2023, the Branch took 15th place out of 85 in the Russian Federation and 6 out of 15 in the Southern Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District, which is 3 times better than the indicators for the same session in 2022: 64th place out of 85 in the Russian Federation and 14th place out of 15 in the Southern Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District. Then 150 schools took part. In 2023, out of 512 schools in the republic, 459 or 90% took part in the events. The total number of participants in online projects was 57 thousand people, while 68 thousand took part in the entire 2022,” noted Igor Tsvetkov.
He added that in the Bank of Russia project “Financial Literacy Games” “DOL-game”, the Republic of Crimea took 4th place (out of 85) in Russia and 1st place (out of 15) in the Southern Federal District and North Caucasian Federal District.
Deputy Head of the Office of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea Sergei Kryukov shared information that the textbooks “Basics of Tax Literacy” for 3 age categories (junior grades, middle grades, senior grades and students), created by the Department, have found application in all educational institutions Republics and are used in tax literacy lessons.
Rector of the Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Education, Professor Alexander Rudyakov informed the participants about the V scientific and methodological conference “Financial literacy in the education system of the Republic of Crimea”, inviting members of the Coordination Council to the upcoming event, scheduled for October 16-19.
