In Crimea, they expect to repair the embankments damaged by the storm in time for the tourist season

Contractors will begin restoring storm-damaged embankments in Crimea in the near future in order to complete the work, if possible, by the high tourist season. This was announced by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov.
Now preliminary work, subject to approval, will already begin in order to try to restore the embankments as much as possible before the season— quotes Aksenov Interfax.
The head of Crimea preliminary estimated the damage from the November storm at 40-42 billion rubles (previously, the authorities called the amount 39.7 billion rubles). Coastal infrastructure — embankments and bank protection structures — suffered the most.
The entire coastline has been practically destroyed… Now they are finishing the detour, embankments in all municipalities were damaged — in Yalta, Alushta, Kerch, Evpatoria, Saki district, Chernomorsky, Feodosia… Everything that was on the shore was washed away,” Aksyonov noted.
The Head of the Republic promised to announce the exact dates for the restoration of the embankments by January 15; contractors have already been identified.
In addition, he said, payment of compensation to affected residents continues. At the moment, 436 thousand people have submitted applications to receive 10 thousand rubles, positive decisions have already been made on 336 thousand. The authorities plan to complete this work within 50 days. More than 550 people are applying for payments in the amount of 50-100 thousand rubles for partial or complete loss of property; they will receive funds by the end of the year.
