In Crimea, they honored the memory of prisoners of fascist concentration camps
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the International Day of the Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi Concentration Camps, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov met with the staff of the Crimean branch of the Russian Military Historical Society and youth. The event took place on the basis of the Memorial complex “Red Concentration Camp”.
According to the head of the Crimean parliament, most of the fates of our soldiers, victims of the fascists, remain unknown today.
After fierce battles, it was not always possible to identify those killed; hundreds of thousands of people were brutally exterminated in concentration camps. Assessing the cruelty of the Nazis after the end of the war was long hampered by various ideological barriers. They say that we have established friendly relations with the GDR, Romania, and Hungary, so we cannot call the peoples of these countries executioners and murderers. So the Great Patriotic War left us with an incredible layer of questions, the answers to which we must look forsaid Vladimir Konstantinov.
The Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea also noted that “We are entrusted with the responsibility for the memory of everyone who gave their lives for our peaceful sky, who fell victim to the Nazis«
We are obliged to engage in search and research work, establish new facts, find out new names of our Heroes. Without this it is impossible to imagine our new Russian world. Today we are again fighting the Nazi evil spirits, defending our sacred values, our history and culture. We have no doubt that we will emerge from this confrontation with a Victory worthy of that won by our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers,” summed up Vladimir Konstantinov.
