In addition, the deputy minister said, minor frost damage was recorded in lavender fields, peach orchards and vineyards in the Simferopol and Bakhchisarai districts, but they will not affect the overall harvest performance. Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea reported to TASS that since the reunification of the peninsula with Russia in 2014, almost 9 thousand young intensive gardens have been planted in Crimea, and the volume of harvested crops has doubled in 10 years.
Fruit orchards grow in almost all regions of the republic. The largest areas are in Krasnogvardeisky, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai and Nizhnegorsky districts. Horticulture and viticulture are among the priority areas for agricultural development in Crimea.
