In Crimea they intend to increase the area of forest fund land several times
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, during a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea, announced the need to significantly increase the area of forest land throughout the republic.
According to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea — Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Crimea Olga Slavgorodskaya, about 300 hectares of new forest plantations are planted in Crimea annually as part of the national project «Ecology» on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental well-being.
The main goal is to achieve the ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cut down and dead forest plantations at the level of 100%. In the republic, this figure exceeds 100%, that is, today many more trees are planted than are demolished. In this case, demolitions are carried out only on the basis of relevant documents. Ensuring the rule of law is monitored by relevant departments, including the prosecutor’s office and forestry supervision.said the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov emphasized that the area of forest land should be increased despite the increase in statistical indicators.
We are talking, among other things, about compensatory plantings, restoration of forest shelter belts, and landscaping of populated areas. There is also a lack of green space on the territory of municipalities, especially in Kerch, Evpatoria and other resort towns. Administrations need, together with the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Crimea, to conduct an inventory and determine the needs of their municipalities. Green spaces are not just a decorative element, but a tool for improving the ecological state of the environment— emphasized the Head of the Republic.
The head of Crimea also instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea to tidy up forest areas within cities.
There are now many complaints about urban forests. They are unkempt; a lot of garbage and dead wood have accumulated in the areas. It won’t work that way. It is necessary to secure these areas and make them attractive to citizens. You can organize lighting, paths, and install benches. I ask you to work through this issue with the heads of administrations, describe in detail how this can be done— the Head of the Republic set the task.
In addition, Sergei Aksyonov focused on the importance of eliminating unauthorized garbage dumps. According to the Head of Crimea, this issue remains one of the most important, since landfills have a negative impact on both the environment and the health of citizens.
In this regard, Olga Slavgorodskaya announced the republic’s participation in the federal project “General Cleaning”. Landfills are being prepared for reclamation in Vilino and Tabachny, Bakhchisarai district, as well as in Nizhnegorsky, Dzhankoy and Pervomaisky districts.
Among other things, the event outlined other pressing tasks in the field of ecology and environmental management in the republic, including the conservation of biological diversity and the development of eco-tourism, the protection of wildlife and the fight against poaching.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Nazarov, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Aider Tippa, and representatives of relevant departments.
