A solemn event was held in Simferopol in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day. In his welcoming speech, the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov reminded those present that the celebration of February 23 has always had special meaning for Crimeans and all Russians.
No one doubts the importance of this day, because it is thanks to our defenders, who courageously fulfill their military duty, that we live today and enjoy a peaceful sky. It is thanks to their well-coordinated service at the front and in the rear that we can gather and pay tribute to everyone who has ever worn and wears a military uniform now, defending the interests of our Motherlandsaid the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov also paid tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers who showed courage and bravery on the battlefield, defended the Fatherland, not sparing their lives.
Eternal memory to our soldiers! We are proud, appreciate and will never forget their feat— emphasized the Head of the Republic.
What is happening today, according to Sergei Aksenov, is being done primarily to strengthen the country’s defense capability and ensure its security.
The President has taken on great responsibility to protect Russia’s interests, and our common task is to support him. Only our Leader is able to overcome all barriers and blockades,” noted the Head of Crimea.
The Head of the Republic of Crimea expressed special gratitude to the relatives and friends of the participants in the special military operation.
I want to say special words of gratitude to our strong women for their sons, husbands, fathers, brothers. Thank you for understanding everything and always supporting our soldiers. Thanks to the women social activists and volunteers for their concern and participation, and for helping the families of the special operation participants. For their part, the authorities of the republic will always provide the necessary assistance in resolving any issues,” the Head of Crimea emphasized.
Sergei Aksyonov presented state awards of the Republic of Crimea: the Order “For Fidelity to Duty”, the medal “For Courage and Valor”. In addition, the wives and children of military personnel were presented with memorable gifts.
